A special built-in (internal) server-class hard drive of small capacity from the line of 2.5" HDD drives, HP Proliant HardDrive, designed for use in HP/HPE Generation G8 and G9 servers. This family includes reliable and compact drives whose design and firmware are optimized for long-term data storage tasks in disk arrays with a large number of HDDs. It supports Hot-Plug and Hot-Swap technology. Designed to work in corporate data backup/recovery systems that do not require maximum performance.

SATA3 is used as the connection interface, however, the HP Server SATA 2.5" MM0500GBKAK hard drive firmware is optimized for server tasks, which complicates its use in PCs and workstations. This drive is exclusively intended for use in compatible HPE servers, such as HP ProLiant BL Series (BL420c, BL460c, BL465c, BL660c Gen8/Gen9) and HP ProLiant DL Series (DL20, DL120, DL160, DL180, DL320e, DL360 Gen8/Gen9, and others). With a rotation speed of 7200 rpm and a SATA 6 Gbps interface, it provides decent performance for most non-critical server tasks. The compact 2.5" SFF form factor makes it a suitable option for servers with limited space.
