Good old Vengeance is now backlit
The fashion for RGB backlighting clearly shows how hard life is for RAM manufacturers these days. Crystal manufacturers can be counted on the fingers, so it’s impossible to lure people with a price. As well as additional functions, which RAM does not have so much. So you have to dance with the design of radiators and LEDs. In the case of the Vengeance RGB Pro trims, the buyer will not only get a beautiful design, but also the traditional high quality of Corsair along with decent performance.
Familiar design
The Corsair Vengeance RGB design looks quite familiar to this line: dark radiators on both sides are connected by a small comb, in which a thick LED strip is mounted. Corsair's own iCUE software is used as a backlight system, which in some reviews is referred to as a minus. In fact, iCUE has made friends with ASUS Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion and MSI Mystic Light for a long time, it's just that synchronization itself sometimes glitches. This is most often seen with Asus products. As for the radiators, they have been slightly modified to better maintain the thermal regime during cardinal overclocking. The dimensions of the radiators are very limited — even under tower coolers it can be installed without any problems.
2 sides of the same coin
Only one thing was upsetting — in the test version, microcircuits were used not from Samsung or Micron, but Hynix. This imposed certain restrictions on overclocking based on both Intel motherboards and AMD variants. Changing the main timings led to instability, and it is unlikely that anyone will be involved in setting up secondary and tertiary timings. As a result, a pair of bars with a frequency of 2666 MHz managed to rest only at 3000 MHz. Judging by the reviews on the net, you can also find bars based on Micron memory on the market, which, on the contrary, accelerates for a sweet soul. For example, the basic version with a frequency of 2666 MHz easily overclocked to 3600 MHz by simply increasing the voltage to 1.36 V.
