Bosch is famous for its wide range of high quality power tools, among which green models belong to the household segment, and blue ones to the professional segment. PBH 2100 RE is an almost exemplary household rotary hammer from the German giant.
Scope of application
It is intended for performance of repair and construction works on small objects. It has the functions of drilling with and without impact, slotting.
Suitable for working with wood, metal, concrete, making holes in them with a diameter of up to 30, 13, 20 mm, respectively. The model is high-revving — it gives out 2300 rpm at idle and 5800 strokes, which indicates excellent performance. But for long-term work with very hard materials, it is not suitable, having, moreover, a weak impact energy of 1.7 J and a modest power of 550 watts.
Convenience and functionality
Perhaps the main advantage of the model can be considered its weight — only 2.2 kg, so the hand does not get tired of it, and you can comfortably work even at height. When chiseling hard surfaces, you have to exert more effort, but some of the vibrations are absorbed by the body, in particular, a rubberized handle with a comfortable grip.
The accelerator mode allows you to drill "delicate" surfaces, such as ceramic tiles without fear that it will crack, and the proprietary Vario Lock function makes it possible to fix the chisel in 36 positions.
The kit includes a depth stop, so you do not need to perform constant measurements, the drilling process will be quick and comfortable. The reverse allows you to remove the drill without injury and damage to the punch if it gets stuck in the material. Locking the on/off button frees you from having to hold it during extended use, and also protects against accidental activation.
The model comes in a handy durable plastic case. There is a large selection of additional accessories (sets of impact drills and chisels), but they are not included in the kit and are selected optionally.
The PBH 2100 RE is a reliable workhorse that will serve well to furniture makers and finishers who will not regret paying a tidy sum for it.
