Server internal (embedded) high-capacity hard drive 24000 GB (24 TB) from the 2020 WD Gold line of 3.5" HDD drives. This family includes enterprise-class models of various sizes (from 1 GB to 24 TB), design and firmware which are optimized for operation in critical enterprise-level data storage systems. Due to their increased reliability and ability to work with high loads for a long time, they are one of the best choices for equipping large data centers and enterprise-level servers.

Thanks to the standard SATA3 connection interface, they can be used. as an additional high-capacity drive in a workstation or top-end NAS system, the WD Gold WD241KRYZ hard drive is equipped with a large 512 MB DRAM buffer, and the internal space of its hermetic unit is filled with helium using HelioSeal technology. The low density of this gas (7 times lighter than air. ) reduces plate friction losses and reduces the impact of gas flows on the positioning accuracy of the heads. Energy-assisted magnetic recording and CMR technology provides improved accuracy and further increases recording density. The maximum linear read speed reaches an impressive 297 MB/s. For array applications, effective systems are available to help correct linear and angular vibration in real time. The manufacturer guarantees trouble-free operation 24/7 for at least 5 years.

Model overview based on user reviews
The WD Gold Gold hard drive series is known for its fast performance and reliability, making it suitable for both server and home PC use. Users appreciate its ability to handle simultaneous requests and data processing efficiently. However, a common concern is the noise level, with some models producing a noticeable rattle during operation and startup. Additionally, the drives tend to generate significant heat, necessitating proper airflow and cooling solutions. Despite these drawbacks, the drive's price, warranty period, and storage capacity are seen as valuable features, especially for those using it for backups or isolated server environments. Overall, it is a dependable choice if noise and heat management are addressed.
Pros

Cons

You can use if the noise does not bother you. Airflow required

Feedback on the WD8004FRYZ version in 8TB. I got this disk purely for backups, so since the purchase, it has spent 99% of its time sitting on a shelf. I want to mention the fairly loud noise both during idle and in the read/write process. But for a disk with such volume and spindle speed, this is quite an acceptable phenomenon. I also want to highlight the heat, it's quite significant here. After a two-hour write process, the disk heated up to 58 degrees (critical temperature is 60), so air cooling is absolutely necessary for this disk! The speed roughly matches the stated one.

6GB was not enough for ten budgets. I took it as a file dump. Quickly responds to simultaneous requests and data processing. I didn’t measure the temperature; the basket with screws is blown by three 120 Noctua coolers. It makes quite a lot of noise, unlike black or nas. Noise in idle mode and a rather sharp rattle when working with data.

Bought the 2 TB model in 2018 for a home PC. Absolutely satisfied with everything.
Works fast
Quiet (most of the time)
Reliable (in 3 years of active use, rewrite cycles, etc., not a single failure)
Makes a cracking/rattling sound when starting the computer, but stops after a couple of minutes. It was a little scary at first)
