This family includes six models from 500 GB to 5 TB, which are designed to effectively solve the widest range of tasks. This drive features faster platter speeds (7200 RPM), Slate Magnetic Recording (SMR) technology to increase storage capacity, and innovative MTC (Multi-Ttier Cache) to optimize data flow and improve overall performance.

It is positioned as a product of the middle price category, focused on use in performant laptops, small-sized desktop PCs and HTPC-class systems. It is a convenient and reliable solution for storing work projects data and multimedia content. The Seagate BarraCuda Pro Compute 2.5″ ST1000LM049 hard drive can be used as the main (system) drive or paired with a more powerful SSD drive.
