California-based Kali Audio, founded by former JBL employees, quickly gained the attention of audiophiles and professionals with the release of the budget Kali LP series of studio monitors in 2019. With the new LP-UNF series, the company continues to develop the concept of high-quality sound at an affordable price. The models are equipped with a 3D waveguide that provides a detailed, realistic stereo image, creating a three-dimensional perception of each element of the mix. The unique shape of the large front bass reflex, designed with hydrodynamics in mind, reduces noise and compression of low frequencies, allowing the speakers to be installed close to walls without compromising the sound.

Built-in Class D amplifier with 80W per speaker

Despite their compact size, the Kali LP-UNFs are equipped with powerful 80-watt D-class amplifiers per speaker, similar to the larger LP-6 model. The monitors’ sound is distinguished by powerful bass and a voluminous, rich sound. The 4.5-inch woofer features an extended frequency range and low distortion (39 Hz with less than 2% distortion), making it comparable to larger 5- and 6-inch monitors. The midrange is detailed and voluminous, while the highs remain clean and unsaturated, which is especially important for mixing and mastering.

Wide range of connections including USB-C and Bluetooth

The LP-UNF series fits perfectly into modern requirements: in addition to the standard RCA and Jack (6.3 mm), Bluetooth and USB-C are available for connection, which simplifies use with laptops and mobile devices. There is also a system for adjusting the acoustics to the room with seven options for placing speakers: on stands, on a table, far away or close to the wall. As a result, Kali Audio LP-UNF combines the qualities of classic studio monitors with the convenience of compact semi-professional speakers, creating an ideal balance between quality and comfort of use.
