Best Hair Straighteners with Ionic Function
We independently test the products and technologies that we recommend.

The company Remington offers a budget-friendly straightener with a good price-quality ratio, suitable for both straightening and curling hair. Despite its low cost, it handles all its tasks and has features necessary for gentle styling and convenient use. Extended to 110 mm, the plates grab wide strands at once, thus saving time spent on creating a hairstyle. The coating combines the benefits of ceramic and tourmaline, ensuring even heating and acting as a natural source of negatively charged ions. Additionally, the styler is equipped with an ion generator to prevent hair electrification, making it smoother and silkier. Moreover, the plates are floating, which guarantees even pressure on the strands.
The straightener heats up very quickly — in just 15 seconds. There are 9 temperature settings available from 150 °C to 230 °C, allowing users to choose the optimal heating for their hair type. A small display helps to accurately control the settings, displaying the temperature. The Heat Boost function provides maximum heating with the push of a button. Every time you use the device, it remembers the selected temperature, so you don't have to set the necessary parameters every time you turn it on. Also, you can lock the control buttons to prevent changing the settings with accidental touches.
The auto-shutdown system ensures safety: after 60 minutes, the styler turns off automatically, even if you forgot about it and didn't unplug it from the socket. The package includes a heat-resistant pouch, in which you can store the device without waiting for the plates to cool down.
The styler from the BaByliss PRO series is positioned as a professional-level model, suitable for use at home and in salons. Its main task is not only effective straightening but also gentle impact on the hair. First of all, this is ensured by the Keratin Lustre plates: the ceramic coating provides even heating of the surface, and the artificial polymerized keratin is designed to compensate for the natural keratin lost during exposure to high temperatures, returning hair elasticity, softness, and silkiness. The keratin is paired with the ionization system, which eliminates static electricity, adds shine and smoothness to the hair.
The plates are quite standard in size — 25x90 mm, but the small width and rounded edges of the body make it possible to use the styler to create curls. In addition, the plates are floating, which means they fit snugly to the strands and prevent excessive pressure on the hair to avoid overdrying them.
As expected from professional and quality home models, the straightener, thanks to flexible settings, can work with any type of hair — from thin and weakened to thick, curly, and unruly. A total of 10 temperature modes are available from 140 °C to 230 °C, with the maximum temperature allowing for keratin straightening and other procedures.
The selected settings are displayed on a small display, the last chosen parameters are stored in memory and automatically set at the next activation, and the control buttons are located on the inner part of the body to prevent accidental pressing. The styler heats to the maximum temperature quickly — in just 30 seconds.
Many additional small things significantly increase the convenience of using the device. This includes the function of automatic shutdown after 60 minutes of inactivity, the ability to lock the plates in the closed position during storage, a long 3-meter cord with a swivel base, and a thermal mat-pouch for safe operation.

The Panasonic company's straightener belongs to the mid-price segment and has all the necessary functions for styling with maximum delicate impact on hair. For this, the manufacturer developed the proprietary nanoe technology, an improved ionization system. During operation, the styler generates ion particles enveloped in water, which saturate hair with moisture, eliminate electrification, and add shine and smoothness.
The quality plates ensure hair safety. The ceramic coating evenly distributes heat, heats each hair equally, and maintains a stable temperature. The smooth surface glides easily and does not pull out hair. In addition, the plates heat up quickly — in 30 seconds to 100 °C and to the maximum temperature in about a minute.
Panasonic EH-HS99 offers 5 temperature modes: 150, 170, 180, 200, and 230 °C. The control buttons are located on the inner part of the body, minimizing the risk of accidental pressing during styling.
The model is also universal in terms of connection — it can work with 110 and 230 V networks. The equipment also includes a "lock" for fixing the plates in a closed position and a not too long cord (1.7 m) with a swivel base. For safety, the unattended device automatically turns off after 60 minutes.

The main "highlight" of the styler from the Philips 8000 series is the SenseIQ technology, designed to reduce the negative impact of high temperature on hair and prevent overdrying. For this, infrared sensors measure hair temperature more than 20,000 times per styling session, and the microprocessor adjusts the heating to maintain it at the set level. As a result, hair does not overheat and retains its natural moisture.
At the same time, the Tetra Ionic ion system provides four powerful air streams that evenly saturate each strand with negatively charged ions. They, in turn, eliminate the static charge and make hair more radiant. In addition, floating plates with a smooth coating do not pull out hair strands and prevent excessive pressure on the strand.
A wide range of temperature settings allows the straightener to be used for any hair type. For beginners and inexperienced users, 3 automatic programs with pre-installed heating parameters are available: Fast (210 °C) for thick, coarse, curly, and unruly hair, Normal (190 °C) for normal or wavy hair, and Gentle (170 °C) for gentle styling of light, brittle, and colored hair. The SenseIQ technology is automatically activated in the preset modes.
In addition, you can manually adjust the temperature — there are 14 modes available from 120 °C to 230 °C.
Other advantages of the model include fast heating in just 15 seconds, a display for precise control of settings, automatic shutdown after 30 minutes of inactivity, a power cord with a swivel base and a hanging loop, a protective cap, and a heat-resistant pouch included, which can be used as a mat.

The Dyson company's styler belongs to the premium segment and is correspondingly priced, but this is not only due to the brand's famous name but primarily advanced device features. The main feature is that this is a 2-in-1 model, combining the functions of a regular hairdryer and a straightener. It can simultaneously dry wet hair and straighten it, as well as only align dry strands in case it's necessary to freshen up the style and style clean hair. And all this without harm — the styler does not use hot plates and high temperatures; instead, drying and alignment occur thanks to a powerful air flow delivered under high pressure. The proprietary Dyson Hyperdymium motor provides a rotation speed of up to 106,000 revolutions per minute, ensuring that hair (even unruly and curly) is dried and straightened in one, maximum several passes.
Additionally, hair health is taken care of by intelligent sensors that regulate the airflow temperature up to 16 times per second, and the ionization system adds smoothness, shine, and silkiness.
The styler has extensive settings. The mode for wet hair offers three temperatures (80 °C, 110 °C, and 140 °C), and for dry hair — two parameters (120 °C and 140 °C). Two power modes are also available (weak and strong airflow), cold air mode and Boost for increased heating.
All selected settings are displayed on a small color display. Additionally, it shows notifications about malfunctions, overheating, the need to clean the filter, allows changing the language, and even resetting the device to factory settings.
The advantages of the model do not end there, as the manufacturer added many additional options for ease of use. The plate lock in the closed position allows not only compact storage of the styler but also using it as a classic hair dryer, not placing strands between the plates. The idle mode automatically decreases and increases the airflow when opening and closing the plates, respectively, adding power when the strand is inside and reducing it during breaks. The automatic pause stops the device if left for more than 3 seconds with the plates open. It turns on again as soon as you pick it up. The standby mode turns off the device if not used for more than 3 minutes. The power cord, almost 3 meters long, does not limit movements and allows styling wherever convenient. And the included non-slip thermal mat can be used during operation or for storage of the styler.
