Natural is valued for its minimum thickness, at which a sports equipment is able to withstand almost any mechanical load. The artificial one is thicker, which reduces the practicality and aesthetics of the ball. Of course, medballs and slamballs made of genuine leather usually cost significantly more than analogs made of leatherette.
