Yoga Hammocks

Hammock

— a special device designed for practicing aerial yoga or acroyoga, which is a fabric hammock suspended in the air. The hammock serves as support and aid for the body, allowing various asanas, stretches, and exercises to be performed in zero gravity or partial weightlessness. Usually, a yoga hammock is made of strong and soft material, such as cotton or nylon, and is suspended on durable ropes or carabiners. It is used for:
  • Improving flexibility and stretch — helps achieve deeper muscle stretches, especially for the back, hips, and shoulders, allowing asanas using suspension to be performed more effectively;
  • Reducing joint load — exercises in the hammock help reduce stress on joints and the spine, as the body weight is distributed more evenly, and the support from the hammock decreases the risk of injury;
  • Strengthening muscles — allows work with balance and stabilization, which helps strengthen core muscle groups, especially the core muscles;
  • Deep relaxation and spinal stretch;
  • Support in complex poses — assists in performing complex asanas such as inversions, backbends, and other poses that may be difficult to perform on a mat.
