Separately, we note that the floor finish is subjected to quite serious loads: people walk on it, various massive objects can stand on it, etc. Therefore, floor tiles must have appropriate strength and reliability, and only those materials that were originally designed for this are intended; wall tiles cannot be laid in this way, even if they are outwardly indistinguishable from floor tiles. In addition, the reverse option — finishing the walls with floor tiles — is also not recommended. The fact is that the mentioned strength and reliability are usually achieved through the use of dense materials and/or increasing the thickness of the tile; both have a noticeable effect on weight, and floor tiles may simply not hold onto a vertical wall.
