Skids

— u-shaped bases in the form of two longitudinal supports and a jumper connecting them (usually in the back). Armchairs with runners look quite original, but the advantages of this option are not limited to this: such bases, unlike legs, do not press at separate points, but distribute the load over a fairly large area. This makes them much better suited for delicate floors. Skids are not designed to move constantly from place to place, and therefore are found mainly among visitor chairs.
