Spring mattresses
— the main structural element of such mattresses, as the name implies, is a Bonnel-type spring block. Its distinguishing feature is that each spring in such a system is connected to two neighboring ones — this ensures high reliability and resistance to heavy loads, while such mattresses are inexpensive. At the same time, their orthopedic properties are significantly lower than those of other types. This is due to the fact that when pressing on each spring, not only it is compressed, but also the mentioned neighboring ones (“hammock effect”), as a result, “bonnels” do not adjust to the shape of the body as accurately as independent or springless models. As a result, this system has become widespread mainly in inexpensive mattresses.
