Down

— natural down combines low weight and excellent thermal insulation properties, such blankets are very soft and light and at the same time warm and breathable. However purely downy models are relatively rare, most often a feather is added to such a filler — to reduce cost and ensure elasticity. Ideally, the amount of feather in the filler should not exceed 40% — otherwise the product will be hard and uncomfortable.

There are two main disadvantages of down blankets. Firstly, the filler absorbs moisture well, so the product needs to be aired regularly (any person sweats during sleep, and some can sweat quite intensely). Secondly, such blankets are highly not recommended for allergy sufferers: dust mites easily appear in the down filler, and even special impregnation does not guarantee against them (especially since this composition is gradually washed off during washing).
