VVGng cables

 

— a modified version of the VVG cable (see the relevant paragraph), equipped with external insulation with increased fire resistance. The shell of the original VVG is also considered fireproof, but it just does not support combustion; but in VVGng cables, the external insulation is made of refractory material with low smoke emission when exposed to fire.

Such a cable is used in places with increased fire safety requirements and/or an increased risk of fire.
