Audio sockets
Audio socket
— sockets for transmitting audio signal to various acoustic devices. Such sockets are most often designed to connect passive speakers and are equipped with terminals — a pair of terminals per speaker (there are models for both one and two speakers). Products with other types of connectors are also produced — for example, RCA for a linear audio signal (there are usually two such jacks, for the left and right stereo channels) or even a 3.5 mm mini-Jack.The use of audio sockets can be justified in cases where the components of the audio system are located at a great distance from each other (for example, in different rooms) and require a constant stay in one place. In such conditions, it is sometimes more justified to run the wiring in the walls and install sockets than to pull the cable along the floor.
