Pulse repair (desulfation)

— a special mode designed to restore the capacity of a battery whose plates are covered with a layer of crystalline sulfate.

The reason for this phenomenon is most often long-term storage in a discharged state; A sulphated battery will have poor performance and, in the worst case, may become completely unusable. Sulfate cannot be destroyed by ordinary discharge; for this, it is best to use a pulsed current of a special format; it is this current that is usually provided in the desulfation mode.
