Signal receivers for RC models for
Signal receivers
— separately sold radio signal receivers installed directly in the RC model. This category includes both receivers for controlling the models themselves, and modules for working with additional equipment. An example of the latter is devices that allow to control cameras on quadcopters using special controllers. As for receivers for the models themselves, the need to replace them may arise either when a standard module breaks down or when a model is assembled from scratch (or a minimum configuration), or when improving a ready-made device. For example, in this way it is possible to supplement such a device with new capabilities (for example, equip the RC aircraft with flaps or brake flaps), increase the effective reception range, etc.
It is worth recalling here that receivers may have a different number of channels. Each channel is responsible for one servo drive or electric motor installed in the model (or several servo drives/motors operating synchronously); thus, the number of channels is the number of individual control parameters that the receiver can handle. For example, a radio-controlled car only needs 2 channels – gas/brake and steering wheel; to fully control the aircraft, you will need at least 4 channels: throttle, roll, pitch and heading; and by installing a 5- or 6-channel receiver on the aircraft, you can additionally provide the mentioned flaps, a smoke generator, a “bomb” with a release system, etc.
