On the other hand, they lose to screw ones in terms of pressure generated (equal values can only be achieved with a two-stage operation scheme), overall performance, noise level and durability. In addition, reciprocating compressors are considered the best option for frequent interruptions, but are poorly suited for continuous air supply.
