Such features are useful when learning languages, especially those with complex phonetics, where the pronunciation of a word is not obvious from its spelling (English, French, Chinese), as well as with unusual alphabets (hieroglyphic languages, Hebrew, Hindi, etc.). However, "talking pens" only work with specialty books and posters; such grants are included in this category.

In addition, many interactive posters and books are equipped with their own electronics and do not require additional devices for use. Among such devices, there are, for example, interactive alphabets, geographical maps, art books for children with additional sound, etc.
