— pens with a writing element in the form of a feather nib — a curved metal plate, tapering towards the end and divided into two halves by a thin slot through which ink is supplied. The most ancient of modern types of pens, today it is found in two roles: as a fashion accessory, an element of the owner's style, or as a school-student affiliation for primary learning to write or for numerous records. The main advantage of fountain pens is the softness and ease of movement of the pen. On the other hand, the use of such a pen requires a certain specific skill, the pen itself wears out rather quickly (or it has to be made from expensive wear-resistant materials), the ink does not last long, and the cost of even the most inexpensive fountain pens is quite high.
