But its strength and reliability are generally lower than those of metal; there are also high-end plastics, but they are mainly used in the mentioned pistols with a metal casing-bolt. In addition, the small weight of plastic is also considered by many as a disadvantage: because of it, the weapon is perceived as a “toy”. However, for use in relatively simple conditions, such material is quite suitable; and the specific level and quality of plastic pistols may vary, depending on the brand and price range. In addition, there are combat pistols with all-plastic cases (for example, individual modifications of the Walther P99); their copies are also made from this material — already for reasons of realism.
