AEG (electric)

— in accordance with the name, the movement of mechanical parts in such weapons is carried out by a drive from an electric motor. Such a scheme is very popular in airsoft drives, as it allows you to create copies of real models of weapons. Moreover, these copies are similar not only in appearance, but also in terms of fire modes: they can be semi-automatic and even fully automatic, have a cut-off mode (bursts of 2-3 shots), etc. Unlike other types of airguns that typically use 4.5mm metal ammunition, AEGs are most commonly chambered for 6mm plastic pellets. The initial speed of such balls can be quite high, but the muzzle energy is usually noticeably lower than in models of other types. On the other hand, this cannot be called a disadvantage: this type of pneumatic is created mainly for airsoft, and in such games a large muzzle energy is undesirable — it increases the risk of injury to players when hit.
