Multi-pump pistols
Multi-pump
— pistols with their own air reservoir and built-in pump, with which the reservoir is inflated. The pump handle is most often made in the form of a swinging forearm, and to achieve maximum pressure, you need to make several movements with such a handle. However, the tank does not have to be filled to the full every time — you can shoot at relatively short distances even at an incomplete gas station.Like PCP pistols (see the relevant paragraph), multi-compression models allow you to achieve high bullet speed and almost no recoil; at the same time, they are cheaper and do not require a complicated refueling procedure. On the other hand, pumping before each shot can be quite tedious, and the repeatability of such pistols is not very good: even with the same number of pump lever movements, the pressure in the reservoir can vary slightly from pumping to pumping. In addition, for comfortable use, the pump lever must be quite long, which accordingly affects the length of the entire weapon; however, this moment can also be considered as a virtue: an increase in the length of the barrel has a positive effect on the accuracy of shooting, and often on the muzzle velocity of the bullet.
