Fishing line

— traditional, so-called monofilament fishing line, having the form of a solid synthetic (kapron or polyethylene) thread. It is considered a fishing classic and still remains the most popular option, although in some types of fishing it is gradually being replaced by other solutions (in particular, braided lines). The lines are elastic and stretch well, which is especially important when playing large or strong prey that makes sharp jerks. And their strength is quite high — this indicator, of course, depends on the thickness, but such a thread can be made thick enough. However, there are also very thin threads. Also, the advantages of woods are stealth for prey and a very low cost.

Note that fluorocarbon fishing lines are also made in one piece, but due to the characteristics of the material, such tackle is classified as a separate category (see the relevant paragraph).
