Water pressure tanks

Water pressure tank

— most water pressure tanks have a so-called balloon design: inside a metal tank there is an elastic balloon, which is filled with water. The second part of the tank, sealed, is filled with pressurized air. The main purpose of water pressure tanks is to compensate for water hammer and maintain a stable pressure in the water supply system, and large tanks can also act as emergency storage in the event of a power outage. But in heating systems, water pressure tanks cannot be used, despite the external similarity with expansion tanks: tanks of this type are not designed for high temperatures and quickly fail.
