Serving spoons
— spoons are used not for eating, but for serving — laying out food on plates and other containers. They are quite large in size, often not inferior in length to scoops (and sometimes they are, in fact, scoops). The design and shape of such spoons can vary markedly. For example, the cup can be teardrop, as in a regular tablespoon, round, placed straight or at an angle, etc. Moreover, this category sometimes includes devices that have a similar purpose, but only very roughly resemble spoons — for example, “tongs” in the form of two spatulas used for meatballs, pancakes and other similar products. At the same time, serving spoons in this case do not include spaghetti spoons — they are separated into a separate category; and sauce dispensers are also often separated from general-purpose serving spoons, despite the similarity in design. For both, see the relevant paragraphs.
