MagSafe

— the MagSafe magnetic plug has a symmetrical rectangular contact group and is designed to power older Apple laptops (manufactured before the end of 2012 inclusive). It can be inserted into the charging socket in any orientation, and the connector is held in place by magnets. The advantage of MagSafe is that the cable is safely removed from the laptop if it gets caught or unintentionally touched.
