Xenon car lamps

— this category includes xenon lamps of the classic type, with one brightness mode. They are designed for cars where two separate lamps are used for low and high beams. The work of all xenon lamps is based on an electric discharge between refractory electrodes in a xenon gas environment (hence the name) with the addition of salts of certain metals. Such models are noticeably more expensive than most other varieties — also because they require an ignition unit to work (see "Xenon Kit" for details). On the other hand, these shortcomings are compensated by a very high brightness, in this regard, xenon has no equal among car lamps, and this type is chosen by car owners for whom the brightness of headlights is the main priority. But it makes no sense to use xenon for auxiliary lighting.
Note that a single-mode "xenon" is most often installed in the low beam, and for the far beam, a conventional halogen lamp is used (see the relevant paragraph).
