— a feeding device that imitates a mother's breast for a baby. To be put on a bottle with milk, formula or other liquid food (special nipples are needed for thick cereals, see "Additional"); There is a hole in the nipple through which the contents of the bottle enter. This is perhaps the only method of artificial feeding available to newborns and babies in the first months of life.
