Hydrators

— a hydrator, or camelback, is a device for the convenience of drinking on the go. Such a device consists of the actual water tank and a hose with a mouthpiece for drinking. The container looks like a soft flat waterskin, which is attached behind the user's back, while the method of attachment can be different: some hydrators are installed in a special compartment of the backpack, others have their own suspension system and can be used separately. The hose is attached to the strap of a backpack or harness in the area of the user's shoulder.

Such devices have a number of advantages over flasks and other more traditional types of drinking containers. So, hydrators are more voluminous — a capacity of 2 – 3 liters is considered standard for them; in addition, they optimally distribute the additional weight over the body and equipment. However, the main advantage of the hydrator is still the speed and ease of access to drinking: you do not need to remove the container from your backpack or take it off your back, just bring the mouthpiece to your mouth, which can be done even on the run. Moreover, if the mouthpiece is optimally located and opens by pressing with your teeth, then you can drink from the hydrator without hands at all — turning your head towards the hose. Due to this, such systems are valued not only by tourists, but also by the military.
