To perform the most energy-intensive tasks, a series of especially powerful equipment based on the XGT platform, the procession of which started in 2019, has been allocated to the Makita cordless tool shelf. The new alliance is based on 40V rechargeable batteries coexisting in parallel with 18V batteries from the LXT league.

The XGT platform batteries feature a waterproof design, a durable housing and improved impact resistance. The habitat of the Makita XGT grinders is the harsh conditions of production and construction. The tool series is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Moreover, digital communication is maintained between the equipment and the batteries of the family in order to monitor heating, overloads and optimize labor productivity.

Makita's extra powerful stand-alone sanders are powered by proprietary 40V GXT platform batteries.

Makita GXT grinder batteries are available in 2.5 Ah and 4 Ah versions. The procedure for fully charging the junior battery takes only 28 minutes, the older battery - about 45 minutes. Indicators with four LEDs inform the user about the level of residual charge. New platform battery chargers are fully compatible with LXT batteries.
