Previously, a clear species hierarchy was traced in the shelf of Makita power tools: professional equipment was produced under the banner of the "native" brand, an inexpensive line of high-quality tools without frills - under the sign of the sub-brand Maktec. It was decided to abandon the use of the latter, and available Makita grinders on the modern market are presented in the MT series.

Makita LT products are recognizable among their peers by the red colour of the case. With regard specifically to grinders, the series includes network models without any frills. The devices of the line have basic functionality and, due to the absence of functions that are unnecessary for a home master, have an acceptable cost.

Affordable no-frills grinders are assembled in the “red” Makita LT family.

In terms of the quality of materials and assembly, LT grinders are not inferior to the “adult” guard of Makita power tools. Their production is established according to the same technical processes and on the same conveyors where professional equipment of the Japanese brand is assembled. The LT series products are highly reliable, but at the same time, they are not as expensive as original Makita tools.
