Wood bandsaw

— all band saws use a looped metal band with teeth as a working element. At the same time, unlike chain models, there is no tyre in the design, and the necessary rigidity of the tape is achieved solely due to the tension between the two rollers. Due to this, the width of the blade is very small, which allows the use of such saws for finer work than the same chain saws. And the advantage of tape models over reciprocating ones is the uniform movement of the blade, which contributes to the accuracy of the cut.

If we consider specifically band saws for wood, then one of their features is that such tools are made exclusively stationary — unlike similar tools for metal (see the relevant paragraph), which can also be portable.
