In the fourth round of the great console war, a historic event took place - Sony and Microsoft synchronously upgraded the PS4 and Xbox One, without waiting for the next generation to arrive. As PS4 Pro and Xbox One S/X have shown, consoles are not keeping up with technical progress, nextgen quickly turns into pastgen, and hardware needs to be updated almost every couple of years, like on a PC.

The first pancake was never lumpy. The Xbox One S series proved to be better than its predecessors in almost everything: the case has decreased by 40%, the design has become sleeker, and the inconvenient external power supply has been replaced with an internal one. Instead of a separate port for the useless Kinect controller, a universal USB port has appeared. The performance of the hardware basis was also slightly tightened, thanks to which the console received support for 4K resolution and HDR content.

On the market you can find versions of the console with an internal storage of 500 or 1000 GB. The first option is usually sold with one gamepad, in the second case, you can purchase a set-top box with a full set of controllers. Also on the market you can find Xbox One S Digital without a disc drive, which only supports digital versions of games.
