microSD

— a smaller version of the popular SD format, it differs from the original only in physical dimensions and (as a result) the lack of write protection. Such cards are mainly used in portable devices such as mobile phones or players. There are adapters that allow you to use microSD cards in SD devices. Similar to SD, it has several versions, in order of appearance: original microSD, microSD HC, microSD XC. Versions differ in maximum volume; adapters for later versions are usually able to read earlier versions, but not vice versa.
