Hi-Fi cabinets
Hi-Fi cabinets
— a kind of furniture designed not for acoustics, but for various Hi-Fi equipment: players, amplifiers, receivers, etc. The classic design of the pedestal is a “whatnot” of several tiers, on which the equipment is placed; with such an installation (one above the other), the distance between the components is very small, which makes it easier to connect them. And compared to a simpler option — placing devices in a "tower", directly on top of each other — such placement is more convenient and safe: the risk of falling and the load on the cases are minimal, and besides, components that differ noticeably in size can be installed on such a cabinet.Another advantage is that the shelves in Hi-Fi cabinets can be made of special materials that are impervious to electromagnetic fields, which reduces the likelihood of interference due to the influence of system components on each other. In this way, such furniture compares favorably with improvised designs that were not originally intended for audio equipment.
