Turntables with headphone output
— separate headphone jack. “Ears” can be useful both in silence and in noisy environments: in the first case, they allow you to listen to music without disturbing others, in the second, they isolate the listener from external noise and provide better audibility than speakers. However, it is worth noting that this function is typical mainly for relatively inexpensive consumer-grade devices; in more advanced models (including both DJ turntables and audiophile equipment), it is supposed to connect the player to external equipment and use headphones through this technique.
Note that this output can use different types of connectors. The most common 3.5 mm mini-Jack or 6.35 mm Jack. "Mini-jacks" are very popular in modern headphones, they are used by the vast majority of models; in turn, 6.35 mm is considered a more professional standard, it is less common, however, such a port is compatible with mini-Jack “ears” with a simple adapter.
