Cables XT60 – Anderson

XT60 – Anderson

— a DC cable that connects the XT60/XT60i port of a portable station to an Anderson (Powerpole/SB) connector on the side of panels, controller, or the onboard DC network of a motorhome. It is used when there is a need to connect folding or rigid panels with an Anderson output to the solar input of the station with XT60/XT60i, or to integrate the station into an RV/camper: Anderson is convenient in motorhomes and boats due to high currents, low losses, and modularity, while XT60 is widely used in portable stations and DC equipment. Compatibility between XT60 and Anderson is not determined by the "type of plug," but by the specifications of the input: if XT60 is a solar input, the total Voc and current of the array should fall within the MPPT window, otherwise charging will not start; if it is an output, only loads within its range are connected. It is important not to confuse polarity (Anderson is "genderless"), to install a fuse at the source, and to keep XT60 dry as it is not sealed. Such a cable does not "accelerate" charging by itself: speed is determined by the sun and the controller. Practice — panels with Anderson on the roof of a camper → EcoFlow/Bluetti station with XT60 in the shade, powering the onboard DC bus of an RV through Anderson while observing currents and voltages, connecting an external MPPT with an Anderson output to the XT60 input within its specifications.
