— solid or liquid beard and mustache soap provides gentle cleansing of facial hair and the skin underneath. Unlike shampoos, soap creates less foam. Such products are used to cleanse, moisturize and flavor “vegetation” on the face. Some manufacturers add specialized abrasive particles to the soap, which provide a peeling effect, helping to cleanse the skin of dead cells and fight itching and irritation of the skin under the beard.
