Air rifles with adjustable stock
Stock adjustment
— the ability to adjust the back of the stock mounted in the rifle.Specific adjustment options available for different models may vary. Most often, we are talking about length adjustment: it allows you to choose the optimal distance between the recoil pad and the trigger, depending on the shooter’s physique, the length of his arms and even the characteristics of clothing (a shorter stock will be more convenient in thick winter clothes). This customization capability is especially desirable if the rifle is to be used by several people of markedly different builds. Changing the length is most often carried out due to the sliding design of the butt, although other methods are possible — for example, interchangeable butt pads in the kit.
In addition, other, more specific stock adjustments can be provided in modern pneumatics, such as moving the butt plate up or down, used when shooting from non-standard positions or as an analogue of cheek adjustment (see the relevant paragraph).
