Optical scope

— sights like those used in sniper rifles: roughly speaking, this is a telescope with an aiming mark. An obligatory feature of optics is the presence of magnification, due to which it allows you to better see distant and small targets and, accordingly, shoot further and more accurately than a collimator, and even more so a front sight with a whole. However not every air rifle with optics is a powerful long-range weapon — there are also relatively “weak” models. But even such pneumatics can be a good training tool for high-precision shooting: a small distance in this case can be compensated for by a small target size.

On the other hand, optics significantly affect the price of a rifle, require careful handling and have a number of features that limit its use in some situations. Firstly, magnification of the visible image narrows the angle of view, which, in particular, makes it difficult to shoot at moving targets. Secondly, when using such a sight, it is desirable to keep the eye strictly in the centre of the eyepiece — otherwise the visible position of the mark may not coincide with the point of practical aiming; this, in turn, complicates offhand shooting, it requires serious skill.
