Auto power off

— a feature that turns off the power of the scale after it has been idle for a while. This helps to save electricity, and in models with a battery, it increases battery life. Auto power off, usually, works with rather long idle period — half an hour or an hour; for shorter breaks in the same balance, a standby mode can be provided (see the relevant paragraph).
