Gas infrared ceramic heaters

IR (ceramic)

— a heater that primarily warms objects and people rather than the air: the ceramic panel heats up and emits infrared heat, so the effect is felt quickly, almost immediately after being turned on. This type is particularly good for zonal heating—near the couch, at a workspace, on the veranda, or in the garage when you don't want to heat the entire volume of a room. Compared to convector models, ceramics "warm you" faster, but the heat is more directional, so comfort depends on where the device is "facing."
