So, they have a noticeable anti-inflammatory effect, prevent the accumulation of "bad" cholesterol, strengthen the cardiovascular system, improve the condition of the skin, nails and hair, and also help preserve vision. At the same time, omega-3 acids are not produced in the human body, and getting enough of them with regular food is not easy, especially if you have to follow a calorie-restricted diet: one of the main sources of omega-3 acids is oily fish. So often specialized preparations turn out to be the best way to consume these substances.

It should be noted that omega-6 and omega-9 PUFAs can also be included in the composition of complexes of this type. Omega-6 acids are also important for normal metabolism, but they only work properly if the right ratio with omega-3s is observed — otherwise, an imbalance in metabolism occurs, which can lead to health problems. At the same time, a similar imbalance is observed in the usual diet of most people: if ideally, the ratio of omega-6 / omega-3 should be about 4:1, then in fact this value reaches 16:1 – 20:1. Therefore, with additional sources of omega-6 acids, care should be taken.

In turn, omega-9 acids are not as important for humans as the varieties mentioned above; their deficiency does not particularly affect the state of the body. At the same time, there is evidence that their additional consumption also lowers cholesterol levels, provides prevention of cardiovascular diseases and reduces the risk of diabetes.
