CAT7 cables
CAT7
— the newest of the network cable categories (as of mid-2020).One of the distinguishing features of category 7 products is the mandatory individual shielding of each pair of wires, in addition to the overall shield for the entire cable. Another feature is the use of the GG45 connector. Such a connector (like the cable itself) is backwards compatible with conventional LAN ports, however, it has 4 additional pins designed to work with high-speed 600-MHz and 1000-MHz networks of categories 7 and 7a, respectively. These pins are arranged in such a way as to minimize crosstalk.
All of these features make Category 7 cables offer a higher degree of noise immunity than previous CAT6a cables, although the standards are similar in basic characteristics: they provide data transmission at speeds up to 10 Gbps over distances up to 100 m.
