Grain-free dog food
Grain-free
— foods that do not contain cereals.Grains are an inexpensive and readily available source of carbohydrates, but most dogs get their energy from the proteins found in meat. In addition, there are more easily digestible sources of carbohydrates — legumes, potatoes, some fruits and vegetables. Thus, some manufacturers are producing food that does not contain grains at all; it usually belongs to the higher categories and is characterized by a high content of meat. These foods are especially recommended for pets that are prone to overweight or food allergies, as well as for young animals with an active lifestyle (in particular, hunting and service dogs).
