— files for cutting ceramics (such as wall tiles) and other similar materials with high hardness — in particular, fibreglass and even cast iron (however, compatibility with the latter needs to be specified separately).

Such saw blades have a rather remarkable design: they do not use a set of teeth, but a serrated edge of a special irregular shape, on which, for additional efficiency, particles of a very hard material (usually tungsten carbide) are applied. For such edges, the characteristics specify not the pitch of the teeth, but the grain size of the carbide coating.
