— files designed for cutting various metals. All such products are made of high hardness alloys — otherwise an effective cut would be impossible. In addition, in most cases they have small teeth with a small pitch (up to 1.5 mm) and a characteristic wavy setting, when not each individual tooth deviates to the side, but groups of several teeth. This design allows for accurate and accurate cuts. However, there are exceptions — files for a quick cut, which provide relatively large and rare teeth.
Also note that such tools may differ in the specific type of material for which they are designed, and in the maximum thickness of the workpieces being cut. So, separate metal files are intended only for metal sheets of small thickness (up to 1.5 – 2 mm); others are also suitable for thicker sheets and large parts such as pipes. Such details in each case should be clarified separately. However, it is worth noting that, in general, electric jigsaws are not designed for sawing metal "often and in large quantities", there are other tools for this (such as grinders).
A special case is the sawing of cast iron. This material is characterized by high hardness, and therefore it is best to use saw blades not for metal, but for ceramics (see the relevant paragraph) — in many of these tools, suitability for sawing cast iron is directly stated.
