Feeling Dread
There's nothing quite like a good ol' spooky bedtime story, are we right? Like if you go back to the original fairy tales (not the prettified ones they make nowadays) everything was all eerie and gore. Did you know Cinderella's stepsisters tried cutting off a piece of their foot to fit in the glass slipper? Or how about the fact that the Huntsman was supposed to cut out Snow White's heart and put it in a box for the evil queen? Those are the fairy tales we miss. The ones that teach you something... as well as scare the heebie-jeebies out of you. 
Which is why we love the legend of Sleepy Hollow. The slow creepy atmosphere? The anxiety-inducing ghost stories? We totally undersand where poor superstitious Ichabod is coming from. If we just moved into a quaint little town with a penchant for ghosts, we'd be a bit skittish too. 
Fun Details
And if, say, we were riding home one night and ran across someone dressed in this Sleepy Hollow Headless Horseman Adult Costume? Well then, we'd surely run for the hills. We may, at the beginning, be impressed by the shirt/cape combo with ruffled lace ascot and lace sleeve cuffs. We would feel a little uneasy at the cape with the high stand-up collar. And if there were inflatable shoulder pads to support the cape over the head, held in place by elastic bands, well, we'd be none the wiser. Especially if the wearer put the molded vinyl headpiece of a severed neck on top. We would no doubt believe that we were being pursued by the headless Hessian himself. 
Don't Lose Your Head
Of course, unlike Ichabod who disappeared into the night never to be heard from again, we would surely tell all of our friends about our encounter with the headless horseman, and probably geek out about it for a while.
