Design
The MiJia robot vacuum cleaner, owned by Xiaomi, is made in the classic tablet shape and is offered in black and white. Black, of course, looks more attractive, but the top part is glossy and quickly picks up prints, and marks are not so noticeable on the white surface. On the case there are buttons for turning on and sending to the base, as well as a “turret” with a lidar. Because of it, the height of the device has increased, so it will not work to drive under low sofas, but the vacuum cleaner successfully overcomes obstacles up to 2 cm high.
Thanks to lidar and sensors, the robot navigates in space, makes a map of the room, does not crash into furniture and does not fall off stairs, so it can be safely launched at home alone. Rooms are divided into zones and a route is drawn up so that cleaning is faster and of better quality. However before turning it on, it is better to remove small things and toys from the floor, as well as raise the curtains, which the gadget perceives as an obstacle. You can also define specific cleaning rooms or restricted areas and virtual walls.
Three types of cleaning
But, perhaps, the main feature of Xiaomi MiJia Robot Vacuum Mop P is the ability to carry out only dry, only wet or combined cleaning. For dry, a dust bag with a capacity of 550 mL and a turbo brush are used. Thanks to the power of 2100 Pa, the device sucks up hair, wool, crumbs, dust, sand and other debris, both from flat surfaces and from carpets. The side brush helps to clean the corners. There are also several modes: point, perimeter and double pass.
In addition, the kit comes with a second container for mixed cleaning: water is poured into it and garbage is drawn in. For the combined mode, a soft cloth is also provided, to which the pump supplies water with different intensities: for example, high for tiles, low for parquet. When stopped, the water supply stops so that the floor covering does not deteriorate. In the box you will also find another napkin, divided into two parts: one half is supplied with water, while the other remains dry and wipes the floor. But keep in mind that the robot does not distinguish carpets, so when wet cleaning, either set boundaries or “enjoy” the wet pile under your feet.
A wet-only mode is also possible, but there is no separate water container in the kit. According to user reviews, for this, either buy an additional tank, or use a combined one, but after removing the HEPA filter.
battery life
The battery life of the vacuum cleaner is up to 110 minutes. One charge is enough for a full cleaning of a room of about 180 square metres.
